Walkabout

If I had my druthers,

1) I would finally know what “druthers” really are. I have to assume they are casual, yet sporty slacks? If so, I want druthers too!

2) I would not be making this big announcement while fighting a crappy, cough-y, congested cold. It’s difficult for me to string sentences together in between coughing fits that leave bruises. For example, this entry originally started with “My lungs are haunted.” Funny at first, but it quickly dissolved into a stream-of-consciousness disaster. We’re talking a whole paragraph on the movie Ghostbusters starring Slimer and Rick Moranis. I pulled myself back from the tangential brink when I re-read this observation “Does anyone remember Hi-C Ecto-cooler?!”

Ghostbusters is great, but this news is even better. Bigger. Kangaroo-ier.

I bought a ticket to Australia…the country, not the movie.

My 3 week solo journey to the home of the Great Barrier Reef, boxing kangaroos, creepy-crawly things, digeridoos, sea creatures, Uluru and Summer Heights High kicks off this July. My excitement/freakout levels cannot be underestimated. Don’t worry, they will be on full display right here.

But right now, I have to take care of my achin’ lungs. I also have to find a tailor to have my druthers taken in.

3 weeks is a good amount of time. Takes in a couple of days ‘fanny fatigue’ recovery time too. dh wants to go to Sydney;I want to meet crafty peeps in Melbourne. And you?? have a plan yet?
