The Teenage Fashion Wave of the Future

I woke up early enough to catch the thrilling finale of “Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead”. I’m the luckiest gal in the world.

Well, next to Sue Ellen of course. Her mother leaves five children for a summer vacation in Australia. Sure, they get the meanest babysitter on Earth. But lucky for Sue Ellen and co, she dies. What else could they do but dump the old woman in the trunk of their car and drop her off anonymously at the local funeral home? This of course leads to Sue Ellen’s exciting new opportunity in the fashion industry, changing forever the way we see service uniforms.

I love this movie. Somebody in marketing quoted it recently in a meeting and I think I was the only one who got - “I’m right on top of that, Rose.”

Don’t even get me started! I love how those terrible kids aren’t even slightly concerned about contacting this poor dead woman’s loved ones!! But at least in the end the kids all learned a valuable lesson….btw that lesson did not involve respecting the dead..

I LOVE that movie! I have to watch it now.

For years, my brother and I would snark “dishes are done, man” every time we finished the dishes.

    So much good in there.
