Mystery Bear

A crocodile may not be the mascot of Australian Christmas…

…But Mystery Bear is most definitely the official mascot of the annual Comedy Central On-air Promo Evil Elf, passive-agressive, “Machiavelli meets Christmas”, gift exchange. And this year’s party was a doozy!

    Mystery bear is living in the Sosin house for 2010… and I’m totally getting him some shots. You know, when you take the Mystery Bear, you’re also taking the germs of everyone that took him before.

    Man, that ratty old thing… His fate really changed that day he was scooped off a dirty shelf in a Salvation Army in Williamsburg. Once a disregarded (likely urine-soaked) throwaway, now a Comedy Central icon on caliber with Colbert and Stewart.

    I still think every year, the person that gets him should sign their name to him. Sorta the Stanley Cup of drunken office parties. The trick is, can we trace the path back enough to get everyone’s name on him that once had the responsibility of stitching up that withered body??
