How did I not tell you all about my second wildly successful attempt at Smitten Kitchen’s Salted White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies?! Are you sure I didn’t mention how I made this blue ribbon recipe again substituting the Bittersweet Chocolate Chips for the White Chocolate? I forgot to tell you that my friend at work said “These cookies are so good, they made my lunch mad!”
Oh well, now you’ll never know.
See, first I saw this infomercial…
…then I went to DSW…
…and before I knew it, I was eating the most boring breakfast in the world.
Do not freak out. I have not eliminated cookies from my life for good…just for a month. The Great Girl Scout Cookie Binge of 2009 pushed my love of cookies to an addiction level. So in order to avoid friends and family submitting me to A&E’s “Intervention”, I gotta kick this thing right now. No cookies for 30 days in the hopes that I will be able to enjoy them responsibly again someday.
But this doesn’t mean you can’t be The Cookie Monster! I, Sarah Jackson, being of relatively sound mind and sore Turbo Jam body, hereby bequeath all of my cookie recipes, techniques, and fine taste to the Sarahcentric readers. Please, Please, PLEASE make the Oatmeal Chip Salties and tell me all about it! Share them with your friends, take a picture, and post your review right here. Oooo maybe I can talk my friend Julie into making these cookies and doing one of her awesome little slideshows?! Check out her Chocolate Matzoh Bark goodness right here.
Don’t worry about me, good friends. When I feel lost in the brown rice cake wilderness, thoughts of your cookie enjoyment will be all I need to get me home.

Sarah-
This post made me laugh so hard! Ah… rice cakes and peanut butter….!
Good luck, Sarah! As you know, I gave up sweets for two long weeks. And you know what? As soon as it was over (and I mean that very same day), I promptly set out to bake Smitten Kitchen’s oatmeal cookie recipe. That’s why I’m sending you extra luck. It’s just so hard.
